This morning I had my first class with Janel Laidman. Rivendell and Beyond. We worked on a wristlet modeled after her Rivendell sock. The wraps were sort of frustrating, but manageable once I figured them out. I probably didn't need to take this class though, oh well, I had fun! Wow, I didn't realize how tall I am compared to Janel! I'm holding the Tree of Life sock from her new book Enchanted Sole. Can't wait for that to come out! She also signed my copy of her Eclectic Sole - sweet!
The line to get into the marketplace!! I was at the end of the line, but I got to do some stitchmarker trading while standing around, so that was worth it :)
Kinneared the Yarn Harlot as I was walking in.
This is Angela and I with the Ravlery team! OMG that was pretty amazing, I even got to hold "Bob." Casey was very humble and I thought that was pretty cute, considering that he and Jess created the most awesomest website ever! He gave me a ravelry sticker, score! I gave him a stitch marker :)
Me and Kelley Petkun! She talked to me and Angela for about 10 mins. Thought that was nice. It was like we were her long lost friends:) I mentioned that her podcast on the Zephyr needles totally changed my mind about wanting to get a set and that they need to creat 5" harmony sock sticks.
Me and Cristi - she is TurtleGirl76 on Ravelry. I had hoped to run into her at some point this week and there she was walking in the door as I was leaving for the day! Her Charlotte's Web shawl is gorgeous up close!
Had a fun day! Can't wait for tomorrow!!
My purchaces for the day:
a Hazel Rose Loom from Urban Fauna Studio, STR medium in Sock Gate (SS09 colors) and a pattern by Cindy Abernethy.
