San Francisco Re-cap

Friday -
Got an early start and drove down I-5. Stopped at Bagel Tree for lunch, got pictures from the Weed rest stop of Mt. Shasta and my cinder cone, which is actually a plug dome. I think we stopped in Redding for an early dinner. Onward to the Olive Hut, we ended up getting some olive oil for dipping. Then we stopped at the Nut Tree for gas and starbucks (a total refueling stop hehe). We made it to our hotel by 9:30 pm and crashed. We stayed at a Marriott in San Carlos, just south of San Fran.

Saturday -
Spent the whole day at Camp Pluckyfluff - will post about that next!

In the evening we went down to the Fisherman's Wharf and had dinner at the Boudin Bakery. I thoroughly enjoyed my breadbowl and soup!! Owen had soup and a grilled cheese. I squeed when I found out they had mini turtle breads!! After that we went to Ghirardelli square for dessert and had a sundae with banana, vanilla ice cream and hot fudge, we started to devour it and I forgot to get a picture of it! We also got samples of their peanut butter chocolates in the chocolate store.

Sunday -
The weather was gorgeous, so we decided to drive up the coast. We stopped in Half Moon Bay and got some pictures with the "ice cream cone". We also drove through Golden Gate Park. Who knew they had buffalo roaming??? We also found an awesome view of the Golden Gate Bridge - we drove on a seemingly innocent street (25th Street) and it turned into a windy road (Lincoln Blvd) that went along the coast and up a hill. The spot is just past Baker Beach and has a trail down to some bunkers, you have to park along the road because there isn't a parking lot for this area. It was so windy, but the view was really cool.

We tried to go to the downtown mall, but it was so crowded with traffic we just got out of there. Next time we will use public transit. Apparently the busses have no mercy for cars or pedestrians! It was quite scary. We got back to the hotel early and crashed out.

Monday -
Woke up later than we had planned to and ate a quick breakfast. Then we started on the drive home. We stopped at Jelly Belly so Owen could check it out, and also to get a friend some Black Pepper jelly Beans. We stopped in Redding for lunch. Owen wanted to stop at the Lithia Park in Ashland and he got to try the sulfur water (blech) while I scoped out a yarn shop and bought some yarns for core spinning! We stopped in Roseburg for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I think we made it home around 11pm!
